Pastor Doug had ankle reconstruction surgery on Friday, September 2nd in response to an in home accident on August 30th. The recovery time for this surgery is extensive. Pastor Doug will not be cleared to drive for at least eight weeks nor free to fully bear weight on the ankle for 12 weeks. After consultation with the District Superintendent and the Chair of the Staff Parish Relations Committee here is the plan for our Senior Pastor to utilize a "work at home" model for the recovery period.
Video Conferencing -- Pastor Doug will attend meetings via technology when at all possible. A guide for connection has been created and will be distributed to committee chairs to ensure quick and easy access via the office laptop computer. Some counseling sessions may be handled this way as well.
A Temporary Phone for Business -- Pastor Doug can be reached during regular office hours (Tuesday through Friday 9am - 5pm) at 419.540.3088. Messages can be left at other times however non-emergency calls will be answered the next business day.
WheelChair at Pulpit -- A wheelchair will be utilized for preaching on Sundays until Pastor Doug can stand on his own.
Counseling and Hospital Visitation --The Senior Pastor will be available after services on Sunday for scheduled counseling sessions if requested. Availability for counseling at other times during the week will increase as time passes.
Until Pastor's Dave's return at the end of September, Pastor Marilynn has graciously made herself available for more visits. We thank her and thank Pastor Jonathan Reese for his assistance. We also want to thank the Stephen Ministers who have volunteered to assist with this important ministry.
Let us keep the Damron family in our prayers and plan to extend a hearty THANK YOU to our associate pastors, lay staff, and lay volunteers for ensuring uninterrupted ministry continues for Christ as Pastor Doug heals.
