Grace and Peace to you in the name of the Living God who is at once Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer. As a church we stand on the edge of the Lenten season, and one of the blessings of this season inviting change, is the arrival of Spring.
Spring is a season of new beginnings, and it is with mixed emotions that I share with you this news concerning a valued member of the Epworth staff team. Our long serving and faithful Financial Secretary, Jane Bueche, is retiring after 28 years of faithful service effective April 30. Her last day in the church office will be Friday, April 26.
Jane shared with me that she wishes to enter a new season with her husband, Reuben, consisting of travel, more time with the family, and new experiences. This new season is being embraced as a gift, much like Spring, after decades of faithful service to the members and friends of Epworth UMC. Jane professionally kept the books for our church, however, what made Jane such a valuable staff member is how Jane made you feel each time you encountered her. You always walked away feeling better knowing you were heard, valued, and practically assisted.
A love offering will be received for Jane as a way to express our deep gratitude for her service to Epworth. Please plan to forward gifts for the offering to the church office attention Marla Kelsey by Wednesday, April 24. You can drop your gift also any Sunday in an offering plate. We will be recognizing Jane at all services during the last weekend of April.
